Discover the journey of Afyaplus Organization - from our humble beginnings to becoming a catalyst for change in Tanzania's health and water sectors.
Meet Our FounderSuzan grew up in rural areas of Mwanza Tanzania where there is not enough clean water. Like most women and girls in her village, she spent hours each day collecting water from unsafe sources. This experience ignited her passion for addressing water scarcity and health challenges in underserved communities.
After completing her education in public health, Suzan founded Afyaplus Organization in 2015 with a vision to transform lives through sustainable water solutions and health education. Her leadership has guided the organization to implement impactful projects across 12 districts in Tanzania.
Under Suzan's guidance, Afyaplus has provided clean water access to over 50,000 people and health education to more than 100 communities. Her innovative approach combines traditional knowledge with modern solutions to create lasting change.
We believe in solutions created with communities, not for them. Our programs are designed through participatory approaches that respect local knowledge.
Our projects are designed for long-term impact. We train local water committees and health workers to maintain systems and continue education.
We prioritize programs that reduce the burden on women and girls, giving them time for education and economic activities that transform communities.
